Mutliple piece sets first start appearing around 1990. Since then, they have grown in number and popularity. Quite often they are issued in conjuction with an event such as a National Order of the Arrow Conference or National Jamboree. Many represent the apex of the patch designer's skill and are a beauty to behold. They are now a rapidly growing specialty within the hobby.
